The Chapter was destined to be written and the final solution begins from where we started….

There is something about the Medical Institutions and the Act of medical discoveries that can plunge an entire world of information into some abyss until perhaps redemption. All the breakthroughs in science and technology need not be rehearsed as a consequence of these long years of experiment and studies, leading to disasters of all types and sometimes with some degree of consequence. One man whose theory concerning the problems of perpetual error and why institutions carry on with these mistakes is Joseph Greenberg in his dissertations about language and human dispersion theory, theories well evident by the Luigi Cavalli-Sforza. Mistakes can be conceived by any number of institutions and can be transferred from one form to another and until a breakthrough; it survives some of the assumptions in business and elsewhere. The advent of HIV at least in the least in the last 35 years is no different from this kind of problem, especially those of Polio which has given us all the headache known to us.  
  

That a thing and perhaps a sickness such as paralyses from Polio eluded the frontiers of sciences for at least 40 years in spite of the breakthrough by the Karl Landsteiner on A, B, O on the bone marrow and the brilliance of a certain Jewish immigrant by name Simon Flexner who for his sake and for the need of medical research that they developed the Rockefeller Institute in New York.




These men including those took umbrage under his leadership, (1) Herald Cox (2) Max Theiler (3) Isabel Morgan (4) Thomas Francis (5) Tom Rivers (6) Peter Olitsky (7) Albert Sabin, names very familiar with us in Virology and the culture, and like in many open sources these are champions of medicine for many years in vaccination and early attempts stem cell research. The book that throws some light on the history of these few including the familiar Max Theiler who succeeded in growing a Virus in the brain of mouse is called Polio; An American Story, by David M. Oshinsky (05), we should be able to quote from this book, at least in gainsaying on some of the assumptions about the connection between Polio and HIV, where the author made some medical blunders no more than the ones that Merck made about the unknown dynamics of the human immune system.

But in Oshinky’s ‘Polio’ story we are privy to his citations describing an important figure in fight of Polio by name Karl Landsteiner that “At his Laboratory in Vienna, Landsteiner produced an emulsion from the Spinal cord of a boy who just died of Polio. He passed the liquid through a porcelain filter, injected the contents into the stomach of two rhesus monkeys, and waited to observe the result. It didn’t take long; the monkeys proved to be wonderfully susceptible hosts. Both succumbed to Polio, their spinal cords showing much the same damage that had occurred in the little boy.


The Polio virus had been isolated.” The process of extracting a virus would in future be that complicated but they follow the same process, yet the intentions behind rendering the piece in spite of the Polio is taint the discourse with the bone marrow incident regarding the treatment of immune deficiency syndrome that much effort has been put in to help the victims of the AIDS whose bodies are racked by the virus by chemotherapy in removing much of the bloods in the spleen and bone marrow of the affected areas or areas of interest, and using a foreign entity and bone marrow try to restore the blood of the patient in a process that is similar to cancer treatment yet they get worse and worse.


The point that HIV is at least for now a blood borne Virus does not      

If the virus is fed through the mouth the victim hardly suffers any special injuries and any specific inductive injuries but when the Virus is fed through the nose, the reactions were very fatal. In fact the mode of infection which are so believed as the same and similar to Tuberculosis which infected people through the nose and breathing, cursed severe reaction in the body of the victims particularly the monkeys, may have given some reason that the mode of penetration of the virus was similar to other agents of the body.

David Oshinsky writes that “No one found a way to block poliovirus from entering the body or to neutralize it with drugs or chemicals once it got inside” For many years the conception that the nose was how the virus entered the body proved frustrating to scientist and in the image of Simon Flexner who help to carry out major reforms in virology, there was hardly anyone to challenge the basic assumptions.


There was something else, apparently the reason why the mouth feeding of the virus did not convey any particular kind of adaptive meaning, is that the monkey used for these experiment is called Rhesus monkey. Its ability to mount immune response depended on many things, in part for the silaic acids which are contained in the body and are presence in the nose and nasal cavity, exfoliates its existence and as someone theorized, many people did not know why we couldn’t stop the virus from entering the body. It would seem that it was only through the nose that such penetration of the body was possible.

The story on how it was discovered that other primates reacted differently to the virus when fed from the mouth is not clear, but the opposition of Flexner to the use of these primates proved that it was a well-known fact or suspected as such that a particularly kind of monkey acted differently when the virus is fed through the mouth. The rest were victims of the same thing. For that reason, the understanding that the route of the virus was from the alimentary canal and not the nose or at least more than nose, proved a damage to Flexner’s theories and became a point of rally for all scientist. This new knowledge is so critical to further enhance the experiment on Polio viruses that it led many scientists to shift their attention from monkeys to chimpanzees.

Oshinsky put it kindly that “if Polio virus entered through the mouth and worked its way down the digestive tract, then it must travel through the blood before entering the central nervous system. If so, a vaccine designed to raise anti-body levels in the bloodstream would be able to neutralize the virus before serious damage was done.”

From this development, they were able after almost forty years of the studies on Polio virus to now learn how the virus develops and what makes it work and why the virus became a hit for the rest of the scientific America. At least Scientists were now able to focus at (early infection) and the blood stream was the place. In the words of John Paul, “It meant that small amount of virus which invaded the blood could probably be overcome by relatively small amounts of circulating anti-body, and by this means could be blocked from gaining access to the central nervous system….At one fell swoop, the problem of immunizing man had been rendered easier than was expected.” 

Among the first investigators to look at the virus in previous and neglected blood samples was a certain Dorothy Horstmann, who was a member of Yale crack Polio Unit team of invested much of her time in looking at blood of the victims that came into the hospital from the 1943. A basic line should include David Bodian and his group; she was not the first or the only one that looked at the blood of the victims that were infected by the Polio virus. And the blood became very central to the point of demonstrating from the stored blood of nine year old, that unless the virus was not in the system and in the body already, there was no way of knowing unless she got sick. That it was only on this account did any change take place in the body at all, that as soon the blood realized that it had a disruption in its system, proteins and folded inwards and then the attack on the nervous system which is primary to the virus.

If fed through the mouth the virus could invade all the stomach and reach down the body where it profligates, but majority of time and according to several practices which are done, the virus hardly makes it into the blood stream in large amount when induced through the mouth of some monkeys and ended up creating paralyses leaving antibodies which has neutralized the virus. The whooping size of his academics raised the tempo of suspicion towards Apes, Chimpanzees, and Monkeys as probable origins of the Virus which eventually came in with their mutations in human and hence nearly justified the all kinds of experiments in Congo. I must confess I have only casually flip through the books and do not intend on writing on what clearly obvious from his missive that the general academic consensus favors a Spillover from Monkeys and Chimpanzee into Human beings.

Philip Alcabes (2010) Dread book that attempts to consider what the early CDC workers attempted to achieve with HIV and how some of the jokes about HIV did not shy from the social stigma of those who were called freaks or in the 60’s bums, who suffered all kinds of malfunction in the body and were essentially housed elsewhere till perhaps redemption which sometimes arrived too late. If it is not impossible to locate this item elsewhere is because of alternate historical account of outbreaks in City wide location, point to breakthroughs that gave medicine a new and profound meaning.




In his chronicle on HIV he pointed to an early date made by CDC released in September 1982, that “Homosexuals or bi-sexual makes – 75%, intravenous drug abuser with no history of homosexual activity – 13%, Haitians with neither a history of homosexuality or intravenous drug abuse – 6%, persons with hemophilia A with no other risk factors – 0.3%, and persons in none of the other groups – 5%.” Whereas anyone could get the virus he argues, HIV was simply the most dreaded thing partly for the fact that there was no cures at the time, but largely for the social stigma that was associated with it. Many of the Black and Hispanic in New York did not see it as very present and dangerous virus capable of infecting black as well others, and they loathed the virus as a white-man disease.

But before long, it was gradually shown that the virus began as a series of carefully planned conquest over the host immune system, and after a decade of the virus of the human it degenerates into something else.

For if Blacks were gradually gaining up to others despite being one of the smallest groups of minority in New York in terms of new cases on HIV, it was due to the problems of information and reaction, which do not add to anything useful.

For Asians and Africans, they were largely hung over on the transfer of the new virus emanating from Gay Communities in New York to other parts of New York and elsewhere, and since they loathed these communities; they are easily vulnerable to the viruses.  Although New York in times past may have entertained the arrival of diseases and other infectious disorder, it has lead the fights against dangerous diseases, against Polio and Influenza, against diseases; both airborne and waterborne. The City is hive of visitors with long term view of the City and travelers for other reasons and immigrant population since the 18th hundred has continued to sprawl till very recent days.

New York downtown has no particular architectural, the immigrant populations; Irish, Italians, Jews, Africans, Caribbean, North and Central America, and other income capable brackets were primarily concerned with their own survival. Although the immigration continued in New York by Europeans, it helped to form some of the assumptions about new diseases and epidemics, to a point that it can be said that studies about the early diseases in New York in the last 100 years or so were mostly derived from reaction to outbreaks such as Chicken Pox (Varicella), Pertussis (Whooping Cough), Pneumococcus, Hepatitis A, Hepatitis B, Rotavirus, Influenza, Meningococcal and some variety of human papillomavirus. In a sense some of the assumptions about these diseases made outsiders temporary targets for reasons of their own.

The Polio virus was one of those outbreaks where a strain from African monkeys was very necessary in understanding the pathology of Polio which Flexner believed was generated from stomach to the body or through digestive tract – in essence it was ingested. Many of the experiments at the very beginning had to with mouth feeding of some of the creatures and primates – especially monkeys were fed through the mouth with strains of Polio virus and the end was not to the interest of the scientist. The main point is not the process of profligate Polio virus but on why it was necessary to ingest the various from the beginning and why the issue of blood pathogen proved a different and difficult point to redress. Look at it differently, when it became very clear that the Polio passed through several processes and especially the blood, the science committee was more than ready to handle the Polio mellitus once and for all.

Secondly, if the mentioned virus-ridden diseases and conditions, especially Influenza and Spanish Flu for instance of the 20th century A.D, were considered from purely medical and biological point of view, they show patterns of infection and host-DNA which alters the destruction of the infection process of the virus, some produce fever others with the same viral infection may give similar but different infection in the body. The immigration population who make it to New York where left to places such as Randall’s Island, New York, a place which as the repository for those dead or dying. Of course they naturally remain quarantined saving for instances of Polio and viral strain of its culture.

The modernity of New York as now and then appears on the world map and its visible schools of medicine was not always the case, for at least we can set our eyes on the formidable FDR days, whose efforts as Governor of New York and eventually president proved a watermark for the attitude of the public to issues of health. It would not mean that Harlem River drive heading the F.D.R was named after for political reasons, but the combating of Polio by forces affiliated with his office such Bob O’Connor makes the faithful date of CDC recent as they provide the necessary tools towards the growth in health we have seen over the years. But needs be mentioned that a lot list of all the breakthroughs of sciences in the United States and in the world did not arrive by idle conjecture, did not arrive by efforts of any one group such those for instance at Rockefeller Institute which has fielded and trained more competent and decisive virologist in the last formidable century, more than nearly all institutions anywhere in the world.

Perhaps the Pasteur Institute of Paris or other Schools of interest in Massachusetts; Harvard, etc., which though perform its function along the elite schools of the country, cannot in itself expel the contribution by other schools either directly or indirectly influenced by Rockefeller Institute in the last century.

This will not mean that schools such as City College of New York with as many Nobel Prize winners as Yale is to be taken away, it shows however that the merit of open culture and attitude to this merit widens on the even the smallest avenue of possibility that what works in one area, may not apply in other cases.  It will be useful to point that the Cold Spring Laboratories in Long Island maintained an open culture and relevancy of attitude to science from the days of its founding by Watson and Company to nearly all combating of new virus which CDC is particularly known for. That will add to the assumptions that the failures over the years to deliver on HIV may be due to the fact that it was believed to be disseminated through deviant sexuality and the encouraging the scorn that it was created by God. But if half of what learnt over the years and at least in the opening heroic search for cure at the beginning was never replaced or transferred from one community to another, we may have in my view – purely in my view – put a final end to the Virus.

While it is easy for me to accept that giant steps in Medicine has failed in generating final solutions for HIV, it serves then as well now as an example for what may have transpired between Polio Virus and the arrival of the scientist who ended the whole sage. In areas I succeeded might clearly interest you with the fact that I spent 2 years studying Harvard Medicine for fun of it. And in the last returning decade and a half have spent hours of a given day on History, Anthropology, and generally studies human genetics. Majority of these studies show it’s relativity to HIV and the cure for immune deficiency syndrome prove a lengthy stay for reasons of their own, to a point that some of the conclusion vary in its results and the end point was a question of some understanding about viruses and its evolution. This aspect of our understanding of biology and chemistry is very important given the very reason why vaccinations seem to have failed.

Barely a year ago, the argument about the SVO40 virus supposedly from Chimpanzee and the Polio virus seem to have stagnated between Chimpanzees and human immunogenic viruses, which may have resulted the strain from Polio considered a leading item to HIV. But this argument in all its forms had to be dealt with, perhaps decisively given the basic premise of HIV infections and its pathology. Put it differently, there is no connection between Polio Viruses and HIV, and there is no link between immunogenic viruses which infect primates and humans saving the issues of the patterns of infection and the chief cause of the agents. The example about the slow viruses and oncogenic viruses are especially important largely for leading but misleading line of reason about HIV and the very knowledge of viruses and immune deficiency syndrome.

Looking backwards to some of the stories from Bronx and from parts of White Plains, New York in the early 90’s, there is hardly anyone who knows what the virus was all about and what its problems anywhere. It was known to be deadly, known to remain dormant for a long time, to be conversant with Homosexuals and with illicit drug users, where they speculated that sharing needles was very dangerous because of the dangers of blood contamination. Special classes are taken to handle blood and the secrets keep so tightly about victims that even some of the workers were placed on a need to basis. On a special basis as well, there are reference to Russia and the events of Cold viruses, including period of long epizootic and Moritz Kaposi (Russia) associated with description of what eventually considered Sarcoma, and pox related virus sickness.

We have reached perhaps another threshold in the studies of Biology and we are looking at the period in Medicine when the theory of the Human Immune Deficiency Syndrome can be finally given an official obituary.  In keeping to themes of 2014 August 12th, and the injunctions justifying great periods in the annals of world history, we can begin from May 15, 2015, to attempt a public analyses of the theories involving HIV and how it can finally be set aside for all times. It may not be the case when there are various cases on HIV stories that need not be repeated but do generate as much enthusiasm as new breakthroughs in Biology. Drawn from the piece from last year, we can recall that the emphasis on Polio Virus was the author’s systematic strategy in analyzing some of the gaps and deficiencies which bar the final solutions and answer for Interleukin-2 virus and HIV. To the extent that this author classified HIV as a blood cancer was no new article of faith, it was driven perhaps by lateral arguments on Lentivirus and the slow Visna viruses some of which are gradually due to the origins of the strains. One of the flim-flam from Robert Gallo is the attempt at correlating Cancer or Oncogenic viruses and HIV, that is Oncogenic and Lentiviruses such Visna develop gradually inside the cell of the recipient.  

 In a forward by Bill Clinton to the book written by  -  San Francisco, November 26, 2012 -   to a new book on HIV/AIDS anthology, he asked the same questioned we have maintained over the years, “ that when the history of HIV/AIDS is at last written, what will the final chapter look like?” And former Secretary of State Hilary Clinton maintained that “…the goal of an AIDS-free generation may be ambitious, but it is possible with the knowledge and interventions we have right now. And that is something we’ve never been able to say without qualification before. Imagine what the world will look like when we succeed.”

In an essay on a new book by Neil Giuliano presented by Andrew Hattori  on the issue of AIDS in a new and recent book, that when the final chapter on AIDS is written, what will it look like? This provocative question is posed to 15 authors—political leaders, researchers, activists, and pioneers—in How AIDS Ends, a special anthology produced by San Francisco AIDS Foundation featuring a foreword from President Bill Clinton.

They share their unique perspectives on the HIV/AIDS epidemic, their visions for how it ends, and who they will remember when that day comes.

Put it clearly, we must necessary understand that the process and complication of thymus as a sugar complex ; the CD4, the penetration of the human immune system by locally manufactured foreign virus (HIV) and the gradual evolution of a prophage whose life retains a DNA from previous reproductive process gives us the impression of Immune Deficiency that is determined by the ability of existing DNA and genetic substance – Cytosine, Guanine, Adenine and Thymine, and here we can easily lift from Genetics Home Reference the following definition, that “DNA bases pair up with each other, A with T and C with G, to form units called base pairs. Each base is also attached to a sugar molecule and a phosphate molecule. Together, a base, sugar, and phosphate are called a nucleotide.”

So together, a base, sugar, and phosphate define nucleotide, and from well-rehearsed arguments from last year, the finally parted ways role of Thymus is rebuilding human DNA, that the complex breakdown and regeneration of life was considered a well distributed responsibility among the primary chemicals but like Bromide-5-Methylation, the process of adapting the body to new realities is something achieved by Thymus or CD4s. The author also identified the particular kind of sugar dissolving bacteria that can considered – part and central to these process – especially the introduction Avery Oswald, Alfred and Martha Chase well received experiment, perhaps with reason and succinctly by French scientist Andrew Lwdolf, Jacque Monod and Maurice Francoise, especially Jacque Monod and the emphasis on E.Coli.

If suggest that the title of this essay and in fact one of the more important essays of our generation should be 'Kicking the Ass of AIDS' but we shall open up on this topic by citing that Human beings have always found themselves challenged by all plaques since the beginning of time, that the great advantage of our time is the new techniques and new machines are being used, and are to investigate on this virus and are sometime successful in discovering of the agents responsible for these new virus and infection. 

The title of this essay and in fact one of the more important essays of our generation should be 'Kicking the Ass of AIDS' but we shall open up on this topic by citing that Human beings have always found themselves challenged by all plaques and have always had the sciences to defeat them but as victim of our personal institutions and unyielding institutions in understanding the errors associated with long held Theories, some of these plaques and diseases or infection such as HIV tend give more headache that its needed and then the cure is usually decades away instead on a few years. I shall mention that going forward; the cure for HIV/AIDS can be reduced to a few years.

I should be childish to indicate that based on half my knowledge on the subject, I can master and kick the ass of this virus in months of uninterrupted lab work. Some may at the sheer optimism of someone without a doctorate in Medicine or Biology. t will be useful to point that the Cold Spring Laboratories in Long Island maintained an open culture and relevancy of attitude to science from the days of its founding by Watson and Company to nearly all combating of new virus which CDC is particularly known for. That will add to the assumptions that the failures over the years to deliver on HIV may have been due to the fact that it was disseminated through the stigma of deviant sexuality encouraging the scorn that it was created by God. But in the end, the last two groups receive the highest blame for the spread of HIV, whereas, anybody can infect others or infected by others. Whereas certain others who tried a life-form of polio vaccination may be accused on genetically and inadvertently triggering a new Virus altogether are not that not guilty, they, like the those who used a dead virus are innocent in spite of the acceptance that a certain SIV 40 strain of monkeys and perhaps Chimpanzees were found in the vaccine that this like even S1V and SV1 or SIV2 does not affect human beings or make them sick. Reading from the Verghese book, (1994), we discover the strange reasons why there is a failure in tying some of the loose ends of the study of the Virus. He mentions for instance that “…pneumocystis had a long history before AIDS made it a household word. Epidemics of Pneumocystis swept through Europe in the 1940’s. They occurred primarily in premature infants in orphanages, in the setting of overcrowding and malnutrition.”  The author discussing this statement made overt connection between the depletion of one’s defense system and the activity of some external agent. That not all immune deficiencies are caused by Pneumocystis, that however Europe after the wars, discovered itself confounded by the cases of ‘immune compromising conditions’ and one of such was this virus and the other was also Leukemia which required long list of blood donors.

The author goes on to raise the question on the nature of the Virus and why as late at the 1990’s its pathology still eluded the most accomplished medical scientist. He asked “how are we to view this organism? As an invader from outside or an as opportunist from within?,” and he attempted to answer the question by reference a case of infecting a rat with pneumocystis  pneumonia, that ‘all you to do is give the rat cortisone, - a potent suppressor of immune system – and the rate then spontaneously develops pneumocystis infection.’ That in comparison to the injections on the rate with Staphylococci, the rat is able to mount immune response. His conclusion and the conclusion of his colleague named ‘Betty’ from the Rat experiment is that “…Pneumocystis is present in low numbers in the lung at all times….The constant vigilance of the immune system keeps it in check. Immune suppression by steroids…AIDS results in unchecked multiplication of this organism.”

While the theories of the presence of pneumocystis (that is if and when contracted) in the lungs usually reverts to  create pneumonia may be true to a certain degree, it is perhaps composed without respect to other experiments performed by medical doctors, that one, linked the presence of SIV from primates to humans, that both of the conclusion from Verghese and the general theory concerning suppressed Pneumonia virus in the body, fails to have incorporated the more basic science that the SIV linked to Polio Virus were not always found in the lungs of the primate. Would not mean that the lungs are safety houses for arrested viruses, would probably compel the secondary argument that the reversal of some virus conditioned by the actions of Chromosome 8, which is RNA Chromosomes houses or control about 95 percent of human genes which the body does not really need.

For if we take Verghese argument seriously that shortfalls in immune system can revert the problems of control to access the body leading to a damage of information systems as in this case Pneumonia from Pneumocystis, we push the argument that nearly all viruses arrested or conditioned for the benefit of the body may become by occlusion, very dangerous variously or bacteria as the case would be. In this clear that a perpetual breakdown of human immune defense may lead all kinds of conditions, but to the degree that a virus – either manufactured by the other and from a primary agent – would permanently weaken the body, suggest sometime systemic, and more that buries the special status or privilege of Pneumocystis.

Inside of a few minutes, the cells start to produce hundreds of mature phage particles, enough to tear themselves apart.”  This discovery was made the Fredrick Loeffer who worked on the Corynebacterium Diphtheria isolated by Edward Klebs and was considered a germ for diphtheria by Robert Koch, but was rejected or placed under suspicion by international medical community as bacteria that was not very destructive and was no less than what it was a common bacteria similar to streptococcus found in the throat…

But Loeffer eventually demonstrated that the bacteria isolated by Kleb was the agent that caused Diphtheria which did not have the toxin, however this bacteria was meant to remain dormant and friendly until its DNA structure was essentially altered by some other events in the body or in the circumstances relating to the human conditions. This adds to distemper the suggestion of Duesberg and the Laboratory experiment frequented but mentioned in this case by Abraham Verghese, that some bacteria can remain dormant for long time until triggered by the presence of Cortison or other drug that attached the CD4s in the human system.

In this case, the point that “…increasing evidence points to hypersensitivity reactions of the immune system to antigens or the candida surfaces or the metabolic products of the organism…” will attract some new explicating since the latest ELISA test and the earliest ELISA test as based on the reactionary tendencies of the CD4. HIV is a virus that invades the body is an infection largely for what it does over time to it, that it can weaken the immune system is a fault that is not exactly of its own making. Allergic reaction to be sure is triggered by many things in the body, but when there are instances of chronic candidiasis caused by Yeast-like fungus usually remain dormant from birth but gradually and eventually reappears when there is a less presence of the cells that control them, for instance in the case a competing bacteria all of which attack people from the earliest years of the child conception and delivery to about 6 months after delivery.  What is Immunity some may ask? But in the United States, almost to a miraculous endearment, there was a discovery and a breakthrough in sexually transmitted diseases by Phillippe Ricord (U.S) separated gonorrhea from Syphilis. Albert Neisser (Germany) Isolated the organism that causes gonorrhea (1879), 1880; Charles Laveran (France) described Protozoan parasite of malaria, and 1882, Elie Metchnikoff (Russia) was able to separate the Phagocytes in the White Blood cells…Anti-bodies called immunologic E binds to mast cells or binding of IgE to mast when complete, the body releases a massive dose, of histamines….bacteria can inhibit the binding of IgE to the mast cells, - and histamines are not released and therefore no allergic reaction.

 What a shame that Vaccination is based on old medical turf gives the impression that we know to expect from viruses. But it seems that the initial runoff success from the time of Onesimus from Senegal, U.S Army and the George Washington’s Orders for all soldiers to be vaccinated against small pox, some advances have been achieved in vaccination, but the chief instrument of the exercise which is variolation has not really changed. Edward Jenner credited with the discovery of vaccination added some measure of medical practice that is not new or started by Jenner. But being able to describe the process in such a way that it became a standard practice earned him a place in the history of medicine. Using the virus to wage defense against a virus is not exactly complicated a process, but the process is the root of some of the greatest breakthroughs in Medicine, especially in ho some bacteria and some viruses are able to empty their capsule while attaching their DNA to the host. It was not solved until the age of crystallography and the event of Watson and Crick.

 Not until World War II were they new demands on the delivery for the best approach to vaccination which was tackled by Rockefeller Institute in New York and by Thomas Francis (?). It is interesting that one his assistant is a doctor that will become central to the dissent over Polio, and this was James Salk. For nearly the last 100 years, the whole Dogma of vaccination is simply used and improved from older systems of first identifying the disease, then the causal agent for instance the Germ and then isolating the agents which Louis Pasteur and August Weisman clearly showed was bacteria. Isolating the soma from the Germ and isolating the bacteria allowed scientist to replicate its process and re-introduce it to the system. This was classic Pasteur and had been used with effective respect to the fermentation very successfully. The whole course of the various cures and vaccination or inoculation – using life viruses – of nearly all competent diseases and severe cases of hormonal breakdown has been met and repaired by Scientist until HIV. It is not the first time that speculation has led scientist all over the world into unknown areas of interest. At the beginning of the AIDS epidemic in California where the first cases of the Virus were made, much attention of the scientist were in the area of the virus as possible related to Cold Virus and much efforts are the beginning of the epidemics especially in 1985 when it became national problem, were centered on the nature of the Virus and its mode of transmission.

Multicounty AIDs program (MAP), International Olympic Committee, PEPFAR – President’s Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief, FDA, NCI, NIAID (National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases) headed by Anthony Faucci, CDC, and PHS, NCI director Sam Broder,  Up John CEO Ted Cooper, Aaron Diamond Researcher David Ho, Fred Robbins, Frank Volvovitz; CEO of Micro-Genesys – Phase II, CDC, and the committee for new trials on HIV backed by Fauci ‘Micro Genesys AIDS’ and the phase I – III, of the AIDS VAX, which are roundly used in California ‘Vax Gen’ and the Vaccine Alvac-HIV.  From 1985 – as some people has pointed out – that attention shifted from gathering information on the Virus which preoccupied the minds of the doctors in the early years of the discoveries to something else which was the rumor about the strain of the Virus in several labs in the country.

After much exposition on the subject and the respect to the six Haitian immigrants who were believed to have had the Virus from its early years, in addition to the fact that two major individuals responsible for the discovery of the Polio Virus vaccine, Jonas Stalk and Albert Sabin, where still alive and active in the science community, the focus of most scientist moved from gathering information on the mode of the code virus and why it was affecting mainly Homosexual or Gay men initially to the source of the Virus. I

t is not wrong to look at the source of the Virus since our knowledge of its origins may have armed the doctors with right tools on how to kill it. But this theory of finding the source of the Virus should not have for instance replace the best of practice of sticking to the objective information on HIV, that HIV was giving us symptoms of being a kind of harmless virus on one hand but delayed onset suggests that it was in original nature not without potency.

Something must have conditioned the Virus in a softly but yet deadly manner, as if the virus like Cold virus has passed through some stages the virulent to the less virulent becoming an entirely unknown element yet all the DNA intact reproducing and undoing the whole system. HIV was not perhaps passed over as a cancer – personal position – since it is not exactly connected to any decay of the cells saving the shortening of the blood efficacy through the badly placed or disfigured three dimensional blood cell protein and the diminishing role of Thymine largely manumission for T-cells.

But like blood cancers it strangles the immune system by dissolving the thymus structure through a galactosides sugar complex manufactured several bacteria capable of living in the gut such as E. coli and Streptococcus, each capable of forming two headed phages immersed in the protein core of the host.  Yet their presence which is a factor for life, which enables to life the help of cells in of itself hence lie dormant as if never triggered, yet profligate in a life form far from original process.

We have to credit the Chief scientist in the field, Gallo, Montagnier, Simone, Gaaf, for mentioning that the death of many T-Cells are attributed to the profligate HIV although it is linked to it. We may add here that the constipation of low blood bearing oxygen and the suffocation of Red blood cells, which trigger the death of Thymine due to poor release and reproduction of Sugar or Glucose depended thymine and therefore a shortening of T-cells which actively engage the HIV virus (that does not kill you) only in my understanding and perhaps like others, that Thymine recognizes a chief interest in the virions of HIV, that it is not without an interest or near sexual attraction to it given its primitive origins, but cannot destroy it for reasons since a version of human thymus cells its perhaps buried in cell structure of a virion wrapped in its core by human protein.

In long lasting medical explicating, the virus continues to profligate inside the cell without the acquired DNA which is RNA+ and human protein built from either a bromide thymus or thymus though the primary engine of life, alters the combination of Thymus to these foreign element by reproducing similar Chemical bonding no different from those from a larger and more active covalent thymine from human cells structure.

In a common and fanciful way of looking at it, like terms or chemicals like exact composition do not attract. Magnets with similar polar tugs do not attract and when a protein core wrapping a prophase bacteria or Viral DNA easily create a gap between the covalent bond and link, shifting the three dimensional blood complex and crystal, forcing the body into mood swings similar to sickle cell and to some degree blocks the proper function of blood and oxygen in the blood. It is a slow gradual cancer of the blood, that attacks the thymus since it is originally foreign and needs to mate to speak but like human cases, the CCR5 end up introducing gaps in the covalent link between the foreign entity and the CD4, the thymus denatures and the system is porous. Biologically, most cases on HIV – not unlike Cancer – usually die from other things and not really the HIV which is a blood sucker.

In every sense, it is perhaps an argument that more than the cases of the viruses or bacteria that were drug resistant and more than the cases of the Kaposi cancer in men from New York who proved immune to treatment, better than the facts about the Haitian immigrants who were not themselves Gay or Homosexuals, there was something about the Virus that was ultimately in the sample of cold Virus or an Influenza. There breakdown of human immune system was the first act of the Virus, it was in fact one of the last acts of the Virus which has successfully encrypted its existence in the cells of the host, and there was damage to the body from drugs taken to cure the virus and the final results were a system reduced to a self-destruct.

So we may have erred from the beginning by looking at the late stages of a Virus life, and may have started to look at how the first persons diagnosed with the HIV Virus was done when the virus was already in its maturity, for sure there was the dry throat syndrome of cold, there was the coughing and cold and victims being occasional wrapped in blanket and there was the rashes, all consistent with mild cases of Cold and fever. If emphasis on why the cold fever virus or symptoms where to continuously play a hand in the overall business of the early experiments on HIV, perhaps the answer staring at our face all the time would have been observed.

The incident of the blood testing between humans and primates, and the role that plasmodium played as experimental dispatches on early immunity compromises, between the primates, absorbs all of us of the common theory that the most active elements in the blood types of these primates, follows a pathway that meets the structure of human brain, meets that speaking ability or mental compartment of human being, and the ability of human beings to remain cognitive after so many years. It is not the liquid (Seminal Fluid) that can be attributed to be a messenger or the information bearing RNA, but the very DNA of a human being as experienced in the long studies of bacteria and injection of DNA from one form bacteria form to another, is similar to Spermatozoa and its flagella, as if on its most minute and multi-celled super-structure, the Sperm is merely on a male parent body. It is this Sperm like F-factor bacteria that injects its essence (DNA) into a pack of advancing or advanced proteins – mainly the X proteins in female, retained in its embryo as the egg – that empties its DNA into the XX egg protein composed of mainly a parent from similar XY male ordinal, but have no F factor, cannot inseminate itself because in my view, it descended from the Male so to speak her father but a second version of the same line which can only or at least most of the time, recognize the male counterparts which bears the original DNA.

But the male body is active and continuous, it reproduces prolifically, its end product are a retention of a three months of body fluid and mineral consumptions which always includes the bacteria and some endangered chromosomes from the paternal lineage and are all conserved in a protein with DNA attrition, the Sperm and the Seminal Fluid from its testis. Here, in the life of a given creature, the process of protein synthesis and absorption navigate between the presence of a male-synthesized protein – unlike the females or foreign antigens which can still be broken by the human body – the male body lacks this ability to synthesize male advanced proteins containing the original DNA from his father and mother by induction, will prove capable of holding its DNA as part of human male spermatozoa which made its way into the body of the male leading to a possible two headed RNA+ Viral DNA, which makes its way into the new man’s spermatozoa.

The book has inspired a lot of attention and a lot of other books, some of which were written by people already got the virus including sororities determined to walk in between the line of cure, experimentation, and infection.

To no small measure was the public perception of Kimberly Bergalis who was considered a virgin and had not used a blood transfusion charged towards protecting “innocent victims of AIDS”, that attention shifted from understanding the processes involved in the virus replication to blaming groups of interest for instance Gay men who in turn pointed to Africa, the later as we learnt through history and chronicle of the virus became very early one, a hotbed of experimentation. Majority of the emphasis on this virus and patient is created in such a way as to suggest that it is the sexual activity of some group of Americans, for instance the so called Gay or Lesbian (?) or the African Americans whose nature is prone early healthy sexual life, are those who are major players in the spread of the Virus.

The other such as the Latino and Hispanic community has also noticed a spike in the new cases, largely for the attempt at testing for the Virus than other means. But in the end, the last two groups receive the highest blame for the spread of HIV, whereas, anybody can infect others or infected by others. These stereotypes, particularly the problems of expertise of the field, Doctors or Nurses or Health Care experts, loathe observations by nearly anyone without a badge of certificate or honor. As such only those who caught the Virus and those with close family member with the diagnosed status that are interested in the learning about HIV with a degree of interest. The rest of us are incurable expat on opinions and diagnostic made available by those in field, but by condition of more direct investigation of the Patients and their drugs, we are able to see through the understandable but proud-ridden closed-off of medical institutions; CDC (Center for Disease Control) and private medically experts each seeking in their own ways to find the cure for HIV – one of the Viruses that can lead to Immune Deficiency.

The reasons why these organizations react with disdain to such things are many, including a possibility of Abuse and use of a medical terms that need explicating to novices, but it seems that the terms and conditions are no replacement for the Virus itself and why more can be done towards a better understanding of the Virus, why it attacks or attaches itself to a CD4 host and why in the end, the Virus overpowers the immune system.   The few stories which we remember from the early years of the virus includes one concerning the Kaposi Sacoma which appear in the skin of mostly HIV position homosexual male. The Candidiasis appears in blood groups of mostly Hemophiliac and people with chronic cases of blood thinning and Pneumonia. The transfer of blood played so significant and blood management also played a serious hand in deciding early reaction to HIV and from downtown New York was a man by Michael Rosenberg who dies in 1994 from blood and HIV complications not before founding the Hemophilia/HIV peer Association, which sort at least in New York to monitor blood distribution and donation through the State.

An outbreak of contaminated Blood plasma in Tokyo a decade earlier threw a lot of light of how the confusion between Hemophiliacs, Sickle Cell, and Blood Anemic patient peered off with cases of compromised immunity sped through blood donation and government officials and how they affected people with HIV in New York and many other parts of the country. For nearly all viruses and bacteria that are capable of invading the body is usually part of the body or part of its immune system, does not mean that all cases which in this leads and yields to formidable virus passage through the same process, but no culture which exist anywhere is done without this process….

In some clarity it proves of HIV as a Virus acting from within is not far-fetched, it is a fact that is well known, could have died on the first person who made the contact with the virus but like funguses or bacteria, it managed to survive.

Needs to play to this knowledge of HIV from the School of Gallo and Montaignier on HIV, that the attention is not what causes the symptoms but on what causes Pneumocystis and the viruses are observed according to prolonged studies. These knowledge wounds and heals, for if we are looking at the reasons why these bacteria and fungus-like structure are manifest in the body, the main events include looking at the opponent of the virus or bacteria that were once dormant, opponent which includes what it them harmless and why they became dangerous, suggest that some conditions associated with these complexes are permanent and therefore long-live in its harming.

For all these could not explicate on how the virus became lethal over time, assuming like other viruses or bacteria it remains dormant so to speak, and like other fungus-like structures such as Candidiasis, the possibility that HIV is one of those dormant viruses or bacteria would not never be achieved in the destruction of the cells that it finally wrought on the body.

There is no telling that it is acting along other viruses, no telling that other viruses like it also exist in the body to checkmate its movement, it amount to a clear and concise remuneration that the virus did not like candidiasis affect human immune system from a child level or before 6 months old, it observes that the primary attack properties of the virus is set in such a way that it behaves like a dormant Type IV slow virus due to the lax and sometimes delayed reactions of antibodies in the system meaning the last of these defense system, which is IgG which is slow in its preparation given ability to manufacture new DNA but generally built to effectively defend the body and are found mainly blood, complement that HIV has at least more than one pathogenicity, that it has more one elements in its retroviral structure, which could be harmless because a virus or fungus in the body can checkmate on it, and it has a secondary Viral DNA in its nucleus from a different source – possibly as we have argued from human being – which allows to evade the system as if it is a cancer to its system.

    The information on the spread of HIV from its early roots to the ends of the modern times has featured all sorts of interesting notes, and may not be said to have exhausted the list……It seems that some of the infections are not themselves caused by HIV, that the virus is considered by many experts to be close to Slow viruses of bovine and visna but are not saved by the end products which is cancer causative with due respect to the plaque in the cell or what essentially leads to form nerve wracking, decay and demethylation, for that these viruses which may be classified as retrovirus are not themselves dangerous, are essentially trapped in some restrictive enzymes where they grudgingly make all the damage. It the list given to us show despairingly evident opportunistic infection (oi) it may lead us to accept that the tools of coins between the viruses that affect human being when the toxicity is expressed and the ones that remain in the body as friendly viruses, which though toxic but are placed under some binary control by growth inhibiting factor in form of a virus or bacteria existing separately in the body, when such limiting growth factor is tripped or tampered with, there is a presence in the body that proves dangerous.

For a fact, the case of Kaposi Sacoma could be called a kind of cancer given the presence of the Src genetic based oncogenic for Sarcoma, that it is characteristic of those who suffer Pneumonia or they call PCP, impales against other facts that these were product of ordinary immune deficiency than anything else, that these men had a lifestyle that included recreational drugs

    Molly Caldwell Crosby 'The American Plague'; 2006, 'the untold story of Yellow fever' for instance describes the problems with the victim’s body as this that "The Virus attacks every organ, poisoning the body from the inside out. Dr O.U Orji in Nigeria have also found the use of Cortison to have undiluted effects on human blood, the cause of this is not exactly well known, but we can be sure, that the blood structure – especially Hemeglobin is affected by the presence of certain chemicals – such as Cortison (steroids) – which the body need since it widen the protein gates of the body and induces rapid chemical and enzymic reaction leading to increased body activity and blood flow but it ends, altering the structure of sugar complex and nucleotide phosphates for instance Thymus, which is the weakest link in the DNA bases plate.

However there is no going that HIV is an infectious disease in keeping to Deusberg and in Order of Farrs - HIV viruses do not meet the criteria for infection, adding that the virus is considered a retrovirus essentially to the careers of Gallo, Baltimore, and Montaigne, whereas retrovirus and the reverse transcription of RNA to DNA and DNA to RNA though an enzyme, means that HIV could have been the reasons for AIDS as according to Deusberg, but in all, shows that the total damage that the body can sustain is sufficient to satisfy its healing and its cure so long the exposure does not directly and indirectly kill the system composed mainly of active cells. But he is wrong about the dual undeserving dual purpose of HIV, for it to be considered a fallacy; there is something about the changes in human body that accompanies the changes in one’s genetic component.

 I shall doubt that HIV lead to AIDS under all circumstances, that some are by nature predisposed to autoimmune diseases and have problem of weak immune system making vulnerable to serious and challenging which like cases such as HIV in stages from virions suffer the victim to ends as end becomes those with compromised immune system open to extreme cold.

In comparative analysis on all that is well discussed and well-rehearsed about human immune system, it is not HIV a virus and study by itself that kills the victim, it is the weakness of the immune system resulting from weak and depraved blood structure and oxygen – cortisone and thymus – that leads to leads to the premature break-up of A helical structure of the blood (Hemoglobin) which is well studied by Linus Pauling and Max Delbruik, Salvatore, leading to the crystalized structure of human DNA and body, and the intellectual history show how the body link the chemicals together in what they call Chemical Bonding and the DNA dogma defined by Watson and Crick in 1953.

The gene therapy for sickle-cell anemia would involve inserting copies of the desired DNA sequence into ‘living bone marrow cells’ in other to perform a desired function…and the basic steps for gene therapy which is has a lot of promising career is that it helps to welter down the sudden presence of oncogene in the blood and the blood cells.  It is through the amplified focus of gene and blood padding, which gives the body a kind of immune defense without necessarily resorting to the body and the cells in the system to fight the onset of HIV and its attempt at penetrating the cells from where it begins to immortalize.

To demonstrate this as they placed Hemoglobin proteins in a gelatinous substance and exposing it to weak electrical current (electrophoresis) which demonstrates the chemically based difference between two separated.  What they also discovered is that when the valine which is an Amino acid is turned off with glutamic acid, it directly alters the shape of the hemoglobin which is usually three dimensional given the arrangement of the Amino Acid.

When the mutant S hemoglobin (Red Blood cells) encounters low oxygen blood concentration, the hemoglobin becomes erratic in a bid to form its own crystal structure and ends forming a structure that is quite different from the three dimensional regular Amino Acid. The result is that the structure based loosely on a fractured composition causes the cells to collapse. In essence the sickle cell after a while is returns or re-encounters an oxygen rich part of the cells and circulatory system, these formative molecules break-up, which is on contact with oxygen-rich blood, allowing the red blood to return to its regular shape…

One of the more contentious of this period which lends itself to Enders in some level, it is the charismatic clarity of Chemical bonding at the level of human blood and hemoglobin and how the permeation of Sickle Cells and other blood cancers were undeserved death sentences.

It means that the dives on Gallo’s HIV buffs, is probably not new, may started as a trial in the context of  the theories about Viruses and primitive parts of Africa. 

If we are to break it down, it almost seem to point out the that strain of Gallo’s virus that was available for processing and was available for early consumptive laboratory work was from a strain of the virus from Zaire, that it may have a common physiology with the strain of those of the Norwegian sailor, even in his estimate the man was no longer available.

The Chapter was destined to be written and the final solution begins from where we started….

There is something about the Medical Institutions and the Act of medical discoveries that can plunge an entire world of information into some abyss until perhaps redemption. All the breakthroughs in science and technology need not be rehearsed as a consequence of these long years of experiment and studies, leading to disasters of all types and sometimes with some degree of consequence. One man whose theory concerning the problems of perpetual error and why institutions carry on with these mistakes is Joseph Greenberg in his dissertations about language and human dispersion theory, theories well evident by the Luigi Cavalli-Sforza. Mistakes can be conceived by any number of institutions and can be transferred from one form to another and until a breakthrough; it survives some of the assumptions in business and elsewhere. The advent of HIV at least in the least in the last 35 years is no different from this kind of problem, especially those of Polio which has given us all the headache known to us.    

That a thing and perhaps a sickness such as paralyses from Polio eluded the frontiers of sciences for at least 40 years in spite of the breakthrough by the Karl Landsteiner on A, B, O on the bone marrow and the brilliance of a certain Jewish immigrant by name Simon Flexner who for his sake and for the need of medical research that they developed the Rockefeller Institute in New York. These men including those took umbrage under his leadership, (1) Herald Cox (2) Max Theiler (3) Isabel Morgan (4) Thomas Francis (5) Tom Rivers (6) Peter Olitsky (7) Albert Sabin, names very familiar with us in Virology and the culture, and like in many open sources these are champions of medicine for many years in vaccination and early attempts stem cell research. The book that throws some light on the history of these few including the familiar Max Theiler who succeeded in growing a Virus in the brain of mouse is called Polio; An American Story, by David M. Oshinsky (05), we should be able to quote from this book, at least in gainsaying on some of the assumptions about the connection between Polio and HIV, where the author made some medical blunders no more than the ones that Merck made about the unknown dynamics of the human immune system.

But in Oshinky’s ‘Polio’ story we are privy to his citations describing an important figure in fight of Polio by name Karl Landsteiner that “At his Laboratory in Vienna, Landsteiner produced an emulsion from the Spinal cord of a boy who just died of Polio. He passed the liquid through a porcelain filter, injected the contents into the stomach of two rhesus monkeys, and waited to observe the result. It didn’t take long; the monkeys proved to be wonderfully susceptible hosts. Both succumbed to Polio, their spinal cords showing much the same damage that had occurred in the little boy. The Polio virus had been isolated.” The process of extracting a virus would in future be that complicated but they follow the same process, yet the intentions behind rendering the piece in spite of the Polio is taint the discourse with the bone marrow incident regarding the treatment of immune deficiency syndrome that much effort has been put in to help the victims of the AIDS whose bodies are racked by the virus by chemotherapy in removing much of the bloods in the spleen and bone marrow of the affected areas or areas of interest, and using a foreign entity and bone marrow try to restore the blood of the patient in a process that is similar to cancer treatment yet they get worse and worse. The point that HIV is at least for now a blood borne Virus does not      

If the virus is fed through the mouth the victim hardly suffers any special injuries and any specific inductive injuries but when the Virus is fed through the nose, the reactions were very fatal. In fact the mode of infection which are so believed as the same and similar to Tuberculosis which infected people through the nose and breathing, cursed severe reaction in the body of the victims particularly the monkeys, may have given some reason that the mode of penetration of the virus was similar to other agents of the body.

David Oshinsky writes that “No one found a way to block poliovirus from entering the body or to neutralize it with drugs or chemicals once it got inside” For many years the conception that the nose was how the virus entered the body proved frustrating to scientist and in the image of Simon Flexner who help to carry out major reforms in virology, there was hardly anyone to challenge the basic assumptions. There was something else, apparently the reason why the mouth feeding of the virus did not convey any particular kind of adaptive meaning, is that the monkey used for these experiment is called Rhesus monkey. Its ability to mount immune response depended on many things, in part for the silaic acids which are contained in the body and are presence in the nose and nasal cavity, exfoliates its existence and as someone theorized, many people did not know why we couldn’t stop the virus from entering the body. It would seem that it was only through the nose that such penetration of the body was possible.

The story on how it was discovered that other primates reacted differently to the virus when fed from the mouth is not clear, but the opposition of Flexner to the use of these primates proved that it was a well-known fact or suspected as such that a particularly kind of monkey acted differently when the virus is fed through the mouth. The rest were victims of the same thing. For that reason, the understanding that the route of the virus was from the alimentary canal and not the nose or at least more than nose, proved a damage to Flexner’s theories and became a point of rally for all scientist. This new knowledge is so critical to further enhance the experiment on Polio viruses that it led many scientists to shift their attention from monkeys to chimpanzees.

Oshinsky put it kindly that “if Polio virus entered through the mouth and worked its way down the digestive tract, then it must travel through the blood before entering the central nervous system. If so, a vaccine designed to raise anti-body levels in the bloodstream would be able to neutralize the virus before serious damage was done.”

From this development, they were able after almost forty years of the studies on Polio virus to now learn how the virus develops and what makes it work and why the virus became a hit for the rest of the scientific America. At least Scientists were now able to focus at (early infection) and the blood stream was the place. In the words of John Paul, “It meant that small amount of virus which invaded the blood could probably be overcome by relatively small amounts of circulating anti-body, and by this means could be blocked from gaining access to the central nervous system….At one fell swoop, the problem of immunizing man had been rendered easier than was expected.” 

Among the first investigators to look at the virus in previous and neglected blood samples was a certain Dorothy Horstmann, who was a member of Yale crack Polio Unit team of invested much of her time in looking at blood of the victims that came into the hospital from the 1943. A basic line should include David Bodian and his group; she was not the first or the only one that looked at the blood of the victims that were infected by the Polio virus. And the blood became very central to the point of demonstrating from the stored blood of nine year old, that unless the virus was not in the system and in the body already, there was no way of knowing unless she got sick. That it was only on this account did any change take place in the body at all, that as soon the blood realized that it had a disruption in its system, proteins and folded inwards and then the attack on the nervous system which is primary to the virus.

If fed through the mouth the virus could invade all the stomach and reach down the body where it profligates, but majority of time and according to several practices which are done, the virus hardly makes it into the blood stream in large amount when induced through the mouth of some monkeys and ended up creating paralyses leaving antibodies which has neutralized the virus.

The whooping size of his academics raised the tempo of suspicion towards Apes, Chimpanzees, and Monkeys as probable origins of the Virus which eventually came in with their mutations in human and hence nearly justified the all kinds of experiments in Congo. I must confess I have only casually flip through the books and do not intend on writing on what clearly obvious from his missive that the general academic consensus favors a Spillover from Monkeys and Chimpanzee into Human beings.

Philip Alcabes (2010) Dread book that attempts to consider what the early CDC workers attempted to achieve with HIV and how some of the jokes about HIV did not shy from the social stigma of those who were called freaks or in the 60’s bums, who suffered all kinds of malfunction in the body and were essentially housed elsewhere till perhaps redemption which sometimes arrived too late. If it is not impossible to locate this item elsewhere is because of alternate historical account of outbreaks in City wide location, point to breakthroughs that gave medicine a new and profound meaning. In his chronicle on HIV he pointed to an early date made by CDC released in September 1982, that “Homosexuals or bi-sexual makes – 75%, intravenous drug abuser with no history of homosexual activity – 13%, Haitians with neither a history of homosexuality or intravenous drug abuse – 6%, persons with hemophilia A with no other risk factors – 0.3%, and persons in none of the other groups – 5%.” Whereas anyone could get the virus he argues, HIV was simply the most dreaded thing partly for the fact that there was no cures at the time, but largely for the social stigma that was associated with it. Many of the Black and Hispanic in New York did not see it as very present and dangerous virus capable of infecting black as well others, and they loathed the virus as a white-man disease.

But before long, it was gradually shown that the virus began as a series of carefully planned conquest over the host immune system, and after a decade of the virus of the human it degenerates into something else.

For if Blacks were gradually gaining up to others despite being one of the smallest groups of minority in New York in terms of new cases on HIV, it was due to the problems of information and reaction, which do not add to anything useful.

For Asians and Africans, they were largely hung over on the transfer of the new virus emanating from Gay Communities in New York to other parts of New York and elsewhere, and since they loathed these communities; they are easily vulnerable to the viruses.  Although New York in times past may have entertained the arrival of diseases and other infectious disorder, it has lead the fights against dangerous diseases, against Polio and Influenza, against diseases; both airborne and waterborne. The City is hive of visitors with long term view of the City and travelers for other reasons and immigrant population since the 18th hundred has continued to sprawl till very recent days.

New York downtown has no particular architectural, the immigrant populations; Irish, Italians, Jews, Africans, Caribbean, North and Central America, and other income capable brackets were primarily concerned with their own survival. Although the immigration continued in New York by Europeans, it helped to form some of the assumptions about new diseases and epidemics, to a point that it can be said that studies about the early diseases in New York in the last 100 years or so were mostly derived from reaction to outbreaks such as Chicken Pox (Varicella), Pertussis (Whooping Cough), Pneumococcus, Hepatitis A, Hepatitis B, Rotavirus, Influenza, Meningococcal and some variety of human papillomavirus. In a sense some of the assumptions about these diseases made outsiders temporary targets for reasons of their own.

The Polio virus was one of those outbreaks where a strain from African monkeys was very necessary in understanding the pathology of Polio which Flexner believed was generated from stomach to the body or through digestive tract – in essence it was ingested. Many of the experiments at the very beginning had to with mouth feeding of some of the creatures and primates – especially monkeys were fed through the mouth with strains of Polio virus and the end was not to the interest of the scientist. The main point is not the process of profligate Polio virus but on why it was necessary to ingest the various from the beginning and why the issue of blood pathogen proved a different and difficult point to redress. Look at it differently, when it became very clear that the Polio passed through several processes and especially the blood, the science committee was more than ready to handle the Polio mellitus once and for all.

Secondly, if the mentioned virus-ridden diseases and conditions, especially Influenza and Spanish Flu for instance of the 20th century A.D, were considered from purely medical and biological point of view, they show patterns of infection and host-DNA which alters the destruction of the infection process of the virus, some produce fever others with the same viral infection may give similar but different infection in the body. The immigration population who make it to New York where left to places such as Randall’s Island, New York, a place which as the repository for those dead or dying. Of course they naturally remain quarantined saving for instances of Polio and viral strain of its culture.

The modernity of New York as now and then appears on the world map and its visible schools of medicine was not always the case, for at least we can set our eyes on the formidable FDR days, whose efforts as Governor of New York and eventually president proved a watermark for the attitude of the public to issues of health. But needs be mentioned that a lot list of all the breakthroughs of sciences in the United States and in the world did not arrive by idle conjecture, did not arrive by efforts of any one group such those for instance at Rockefeller Institute which has fielded and trained more competent and decisive virologist in the last formidable century, more than nearly all institutions anywhere in the world.

Perhaps the Pasteur Institute of Paris or other Schools of interest in Massachusetts; Harvard, etc., which though perform its function along the elite schools of the country, cannot in itself expel the contribution by other schools either directly or indirectly influenced by Rockefeller Institute in the last century.

This will not mean that schools such as City College of New York with as many Nobel Prize winners as Yale is to be taken away, it shows however that the merit of open culture and attitude to this merit widens on the even the smallest avenue of possibility that what works in one area, may not apply in other cases.  It will be useful to point that the Cold Spring Laboratories in Long Island maintained an open culture and relevancy of attitude to science from the days of its founding by Watson and Company to nearly all combating of new virus which CDC is particularly known for. That will add to the assumptions that the failures over the years to deliver on HIV may be due to the fact that it was believed to be disseminated through deviant sexuality and the encouraging the scorn that it was created by God. But if half of what learnt over the years and at least in the opening heroic search for cure at the beginning was never replaced or transferred from one community to another, we may have in my view – purely in my view – put a final end to the Virus.

While it is easy for me to accept that giant steps in Medicine has failed in generating final solutions for HIV, it serves then as well now as an example for what may have transpired between Polio Virus and the arrival of the scientist who ended the whole sage. In areas I succeeded might clearly interest you with the fact that I spent 2 years studying Harvard Medicine for fun of it. And in the last returning decade and a half have spent hours of a given day on History, Anthropology, and generally studies human genetics. Majority of these studies show it’s relativity to HIV and the cure for immune deficiency syndrome prove a lengthy stay for reasons of their own, to a point that some of the conclusion vary in its results and the end point was a question of some understanding about viruses and its evolution. This aspect of our understanding of biology and chemistry is very important given the very reason why vaccinations seem to have failed.

Barely a year ago, the argument about the SVO40 virus supposedly from Chimpanzee and the Polio virus seem to have stagnated between Chimpanzees and human immunogenic viruses, which may have resulted the strain from Polio considered a leading item to HIV. But this argument in all its forms had to be dealt with, perhaps decisively given the basic premise of HIV infections and its pathology. Put it differently, there is no connection between Polio Viruses and HIV, and there is no link between immunogenic viruses which infect primates and humans saving the issues of the patterns of infection and the chief cause of the agents. The example about the slow viruses and oncogenic viruses are especially important largely for leading but misleading line of reason about HIV and the very knowledge of viruses and immune deficiency syndrome.

Looking backwards to some of the stories from Bronx and from parts of White Plains, New York in the early 90’s, there is hardly anyone who knows what the virus was all about and what its problems anywhere. It was known to be deadly, known to remain dormant for a long time, to be conversant with Homosexuals and with illicit drug users, where they speculated that sharing needles was very dangerous because of the dangers of blood contamination. Special classes are taken to handle blood and the secrets keep so tightly about victims that even some of the workers were placed on a need to basis. On a special basis as well, there are reference to Russia and the events of Cold viruses, including period of long epizootic and Moritz Kaposi (Russia) associated with description of what eventually considered Sarcoma, and pox related virus sickness.

It will seem also that the comparison between the Lentivirus that Montagnier is associated with is not unknown to Gallo, promotes only two possibly arguments that Robert Gallo were looking at the comparative physiology of the primates and the humans, their gaps in defense mechanism and whole comparative physiognomy, that he believes in lieu of Rockefeller Institute and their historical breakthroughs, that a similar virus if discovered in the primates can lend a pair of eyes to those of humans.

The second reasons are that he and his group may have believed upfront that the virus essentially came from Africa. It is only reasonably reassuring that Interleukin-2 associated thymus which Montagnier emphasized has its reasons, based perhaps of Claude Jasmine Chermann.

When we look at the structure of the protein from sources totally available to us, the use and eventually the abuse of Gallo’s strain resulting in its isolation of the human version of the Zairian Strain, is said to be oncogenic virus, means that it is cancer causing, will also point to the fact that over the last returning decade of the search for HIV and its cure was sentenced to a goose chase, point must be made that the strain however oncogenic could not connected to human cancer, though the virus when triggered delivers according to its purpose.

Therefore a connection between the cancer virus and human immunodeficiency virus were test that led to wrong conclusions, for if HIV in of itself could infect monkeys, a kind zoonotic trans-infection would be possible among the humans. He is credited with pointing out that the several glands in the human body – though capable of existing on its own – may be affected with the more trying problems of temperature in the body of the organism to a point that its ability to secret liquids or enzymes towards a fully functioning body, is seriously dependent of what other organs of the body is doing. There is something about the Medical Institutions and the Act of medical discoveries that can plunge an entire world of information into some abyss until perhaps redemption. All the breakthroughs in science and technology need not be rehearsed as a consequence of these long years of experiment and studies, leading to disasters of all types and sometimes with some degree of consequence. One man whose theory concerning the problems of perpetual error and why institutions carry on with these mistakes is Joseph Greenberg in his dissertations about language and human dispersion theory, theories well evident by the Luigi Cavalli-Sforza. Mistakes can be conceived by any number of institutions and can be transferred from one form to another and until a breakthrough; it survives some of the assumptions in business and elsewhere. The advent of HIV at least in the least in the last 35 years is no different from this kind of problem, especially those of Polio which has given us all the headache known to us.    

That a thing and perhaps a sickness such as paralyses from Polio eluded the frontiers of sciences for at least 40 years in spite of the breakthrough by the Karl Landsteiner on A, B, O on the bone marrow and the brilliance of a certain Jewish immigrant by name Simon Flexner who for his sake and for the need of medical research that they developed the Rockefeller Institute in New York. These men including those took umbrage under his leadership, (1) Herald Cox (2) Max Theiler (3) Isabel Morgan (4) Thomas Francis (5) Tom Rivers (6) Peter Olitsky (7) Albert Sabin, names very familiar with us in Virology and the culture, and like in many open sources these are champions of medicine for many years in vaccination and early attempts stem cell research. The book that throws some light on the history of these few including the familiar Max Theiler who succeeded in growing a Virus in the brain of mouse is called Polio; An American Story, by David M. Oshinsky (05), we should be able to quote from this book, at least in gainsaying on some of the assumptions about the connection between Polio and HIV, where the author made some medical blunders no more than the ones that Merck made about the unknown dynamics of the human immune system.

But in Oshinky’s ‘Polio’ story we are privy to his citations describing an important figure in fight of Polio by name Karl Landsteiner that “At his Laboratory in Vienna, Landsteiner produced an emulsion from the Spinal cord of a boy who just died of Polio. He passed the liquid through a porcelain filter, injected the contents into the stomach of two rhesus monkeys, and waited to observe the result. It didn’t take long; the monkeys proved to be wonderfully susceptible hosts. Both succumbed to Polio, their spinal cords showing much the same damage that had occurred in the little boy. The Polio virus had been isolated.” The process of extracting a virus would in future be that complicated but they follow the same process, yet the intentions behind rendering the piece in spite of the Polio is taint the discourse with the bone marrow incident regarding the treatment of immune deficiency syndrome that much effort has been put in to help the victims of the AIDS whose bodies are racked by the virus by chemotherapy in removing much of the bloods in the spleen and bone marrow of the affected areas or areas of interest, and using a foreign entity and bone marrow try to restore the blood of the patient in a process that is similar to cancer treatment yet they get worse and worse. The point that HIV is at least for now a blood borne Virus does not      

If the virus is fed through the mouth the victim hardly suffers any special injuries and any specific inductive injuries but when the Virus is fed through the nose, the reactions were very fatal. In fact the mode of infection which are so believed as the same and similar to Tuberculosis which infected people through the nose and breathing, cursed severe reaction in the body of the victims particularly the monkeys, may have given some reason that the mode of penetration of the virus was similar to other agents of the body.

David Oshinsky writes that “No one found a way to block poliovirus from entering the body or to neutralize it with drugs or chemicals once it got inside” For many years the conception that the nose was how the virus entered the body proved frustrating to scientist and in the image of Simon Flexner who help to carry out major reforms in virology, there was hardly anyone to challenge the basic assumptions. There was something else, apparently the reason why the mouth feeding of the virus did not convey any particular kind of adaptive meaning, is that the monkey used for these experiment is called Rhesus monkey. Its ability to mount immune response depended on many things, in part for the silaic acids which are contained in the body and are presence in the nose and nasal cavity, exfoliates its existence and as someone theorized, many people did not know why we couldn’t stop the virus from entering the body. It would seem that it was only through the nose that such penetration of the body was possible.

The story on how it was discovered that other primates reacted differently to the virus when fed from the mouth is not clear, but the opposition of Flexner to the use of these primates proved that it was a well-known fact or suspected as such that a particularly kind of monkey acted differently when the virus is fed through the mouth. The rest were victims of the same thing. For that reason, the understanding that the route of the virus was from the alimentary canal and not the nose or at least more than nose, proved a damage to Flexner’s theories and became a point of rally for all scientist. This new knowledge is so critical to further enhance the experiment on Polio viruses that it led many scientists to shift their attention from monkeys to chimpanzees.

Oshinsky put it kindly that “if Polio virus entered through the mouth and worked its way down the digestive tract, then it must travel through the blood before entering the central nervous system. If so, a vaccine designed to raise anti-body levels in the bloodstream would be able to neutralize the virus before serious damage was done.”

From this development, they were able after almost forty years of the studies on Polio virus to now learn how the virus develops and what makes it work and why the virus became a hit for the rest of the scientific America. At least Scientists were now able to focus at (early infection) and the blood stream was the place. In the words of John Paul, “It meant that small amount of virus which invaded the blood could probably be overcome by relatively small amounts of circulating anti-body, and by this means could be blocked from gaining access to the central nervous system….At one fell swoop, the problem of immunizing man had been rendered easier than was expected.” 

Among the first investigators to look at the virus in previous and neglected blood samples was a certain Dorothy Horstmann, who was a member of Yale crack Polio Unit team of invested much of her time in looking at blood of the victims that came into the hospital from the 1943. The whooping size of his academics raised the tempo of suspicion towards Apes, Chimpanzees, and Monkeys as probable origins of the Virus which eventually came in with their mutations in human and hence nearly justified the all kinds of experiments in Congo. I must confess I have only casually flip through the books and do not intend on writing on what clearly obvious from his missive that the general academic consensus favors a Spillover from Monkeys and Chimpanzee into Human beings.

Philip Alcabes (2010) Dread book that attempts to consider what the early CDC workers attempted to achieve with HIV and how some of the jokes about HIV did not shy from the social stigma of those who were called freaks or in the 60’s bums, who suffered all kinds of malfunction in the body and were essentially housed elsewhere till perhaps redemption which sometimes arrived too late. The Polio virus was one of those outbreaks where a strain from African monkeys was very necessary in understanding the pathology of Polio which Flexner believed was generated from stomach to the body or through digestive tract – in essence it was ingested. Many of the experiments at the very beginning had to with mouth feeding of some of the creatures and primates – especially monkeys were fed through the mouth with strains of Polio virus and the end was not to the interest of the scientist. The main point is not the process of profligate Polio virus but on why it was necessary to ingest the various from the beginning and why the issue of blood pathogen proved a different and difficult point to redress. Look at it differently, when it became very clear that the Polio passed through several processes and especially the blood, the science committee was more than ready to handle the Polio mellitus once and for all.

Secondly, if the mentioned virus-ridden diseases and conditions, especially Influenza and Spanish Flu for instance of the 20th century A.D, were considered from purely medical and biological point of view, they show patterns of infection and host-DNA which alters the destruction of the infection process of the virus, some produce fever others with the same viral infection may give similar but different infection in the body. The immigration population who make it to New York where left to places such as Randall’s Island, New York, a place which as the repository for those dead or dying. Of course they naturally remain quarantined saving for instances of Polio and viral strain of its culture.

This will not mean that schools such as City College of New York with as many Nobel Prize winners as Yale is to be taken away, it shows however that the merit of open culture and attitude to this merit widens on the even the smallest avenue of possibility that what works in one area, may not apply in other cases.  It will be useful to point that the Cold Spring Laboratories in Long Island maintained an open culture and relevancy of attitude to science from the days of its founding by Watson and Company to nearly all combating of new virus which CDC is particularly known for. That will add to the assumptions that the failures over the years to deliver on HIV may be due to the fact that it was believed to be disseminated through deviant sexuality and the encouraging the scorn that it was created by God. But if half of what learnt over the years and at least in the opening heroic search for cure at the beginning was never replaced or transferred from one community to another, we may have in my view – purely in my view – put a final end to the Virus.

While it is easy for me to accept that giant steps in Medicine has failed in generating final solutions for HIV, it serves then as well now as an example for what may have transpired between Polio Virus and the arrival of the scientist who ended the whole sage. The example about the slow viruses and oncogenic viruses are especially important largely for leading but misleading line of reason about HIV and the very knowledge of viruses and immune deficiency syndrome.

For the similarity and differences between Gallo and Montagnier, it will be common sense to show that cancer is the bottom line in whole argument, while the Gallo cancer causing virus is different from Montagnier is perhaps due to their specific origins. Although there are other viruses that trigger the creation of mutants, the rate at which we notice the differences between the two scientists is what their viruses do inside the body.
